Santa One Day, the Toothfairy the Next!

Filed under: What I Do When I'm Not Folding Laundry - Melissa @ 11:22 pm

Of all things to forget to tell my blog friends about, my sweet little firstborn baby boy reached a milestone on Christmas Day.  Ethan lost his first tooth!  Together, he and I carefully put the tooth in an envelope and set it under his pillow at bedtime.  When Ethan woke up, the Tooth Fairy had taken the tooth and left a crisp five dollar bill in its place.  You heard me, $5!  Five, funf, cinco, cinq, hah-mesh, viisi, FIVE!  Who knew that the tooth losing business had become so lucrative?  Perhaps I should start pulling my own teeth out!

  1. Will he earn more if the tooth is a molar? Or does the Tooth Fairy pay a flat fee? Just wondering.

  3. Five bucks?
Man…don’t let your kids talk to my kids.
Our tooth fairy only brings $1.
Get ready…cause it seems like once that first tooth is out….they all start getting loose.

  5. If I knock a few teeth out of my mouth can I send them to your house. Your tooth fairy is rich!!!

I’m not kidding about sending my teeth there. I could use some cash right about now.

  6. Hi there!

I’m bloghopping today and surfed over from Half the Sky.

He got five dollars? Crap, I hope my kids don’t ever find out about this. They get $2 bills for their teeth. My daughter just lost her second tooth in two weeks, both of them at school, and lost it. She was in tears when I picked her up. After getting the story out of her in between sniffles, I called my mom and she pretended to be the Tooth Fairy and reassured my daughter that a lost tooth, even one misplaced, still warranted a visit. It was very sweet.

  7. My oldest just lost two molars back to back, he was at his grandparents and the tooth fairy left him $20! Those happen to be my parents and I certain in all my childhood all my teeth added together did not equal $20! Hmp. Maybe I’ll make him put half in the bank! Evil mother I am.
