Happy Thanksgiving!

Filed under: Holidays - Melissa @ 2:18 am

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving today.  I’ll be watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, listening to Christmas music, and (hopefully) cooking up the tenderest, juiciest turkey ever eaten on this green earth!  This year, the Davenport clan will be sitting down to mashed sweet potatoes, carrots, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, olives, mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey, egg nog, and for desert, pumpkin pie and angel food cake.  Deeeelicious!

So let’s see…what am I thankful for this year?  I’m thankful that our transition from a family of five to a family of six seems to be going smoothly so far.  I’m thankful for all the friends I’ve made as a result of this blog.  (Just so you know, even though I’ve never me you in person, I consider you all my Real Life friends.)  I’m thankful that my family is healthy and that my children are curious.  I’m thankful for libraries and the internet.  I’m thankful for people who have wonderful music playing in their heads and who take the time to write it down and share it with those of us who can’t even fathom that talent.  I’m thankful for parades and for food and for chances for family members to gather together and endure each other’s company.  I’m thankful for opportunity and knowledge.  Most of all, I’m thankful for the fantastic man who married me and who puts up with my imperfections, few though they may be!

Have a great time today and let me know some of the things you’re thankful for.  Happy Thanksgiving!
