Meet Bunny Baby…

She’s soft and pink and easily tossed in the washing machine when dirty.

We love her very much.  She is, in fact, vital to the whole bedtime process.

Sometimes Bunny Baby goes in the car with us.  She does not, however, go into any stores because she must keep Aurora’s seat warm for her in the car.  About two weeks ago, Bunny Baby rode with us to Winco for groceries.  She obediently remained in the car.  When we got back, Aurora hugged her tightly as I buckled the two of them into the seat.  We got home and got everything into the house.

Bedtime came around.  But where was Bunny Baby?  Aurora wandered from room to room, her hands pressed to her cheeks, crying and calling out, "Bunny Baby, where you?"  But Bunny Baby was nowhere to be found.  We looked everywhere in the house.  I crawled all over the car.  I looked in the front and back yards.  I was positive she had made it back home, but in desperation, I called Winco and asked if they had seen Bunny Baby.  Sadly, they had not.

We managed bedtime without her, and then my pajama-clad self got into the car and circled the nearly deserted Winco parking lot to see if we had somehow dropped her there.  I drove home Bunny-less.  And I cried.  My little girl loved Bunny so.  And missing Bunny made Aurora cry.  I had Dolly when I was little, so I knew how very important Bunny Baby was.  And missing her made me cry.

But then?  Then!  I opened up a desk drawer the next morning and saw a bit of pink fluff sticking out from under some papers shoved in there.  Bunny Baby was found!  And Aurora didn’t let her out of her sight for at least a week.

Now meet Baby Bunny…

Baby Bunny is Bunny Baby’s baby.  They love each other very much.

Aurora loves her, too.  And she loves that Bunny Baby loves her.

She sings them songs.

And plays make believe musical intstruments for them.

The Dynamic Duo is now the Terrific Trio.

And all I can think is, "OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!  Do you mean to tell me there’s ANOTHER baby I may have to freak out over?  Can’t a mom catch a break?!?!"

But for that face, it would be worth it!

Humor-Blogs.com covets Bunny Baby, but cannot have her!
