Bedtime Rituals
Everybody has a ritual for bedtime. For some, it’s as simple as washing their face before turning out the lights. Others complicate things a bit more with tooth brushing, prayers, stuffed animals, etc. For my girls, the bedtime routine involves a game of hide and seek. Every night, as I turn out the lights in the boys’ room, the girls run down to their room and hide themselves under a blanket.
Where, oh where are those girls?
Are they in the closet?
Are they under the bed?
Perhaps they’re behind the dresser?
Oh me, oh my! If I don’t find them soon, I just might cry!
There they are!! Now why didn’t I think to look under the wiggling, giggling blanket in the corner to begin with? Silly me!

I came here to wave a home-baked pie and lure you over. I figure if you get people to fold your laundry, you wouldn’t mind others doing your baking for you too.
So yeah… it’s a pie…
[Btw.. those tots are cute! Mine are too old to hide like that… unless it’s from the police.

CUTE.
When our kids try to hide to avoid bedtime, we just say. “Oh well. Too bad we can’t find [Child’s, usually the boy’s, name]. I guess we just have to go to bed NOW, without a scripture story. Or prayer. Or cheese and water.”
This is met with an IMMEDIATE “Noooo!!” and the child popping out from under the blanket on the big bed.
We’re mean.

Hi Melissa
I stumbled across your blog on LDS BLOGS. I thought you mighe be interested in a site my wife and I just built called MormonsMadeSimple.com, which uses simple, explanatory videos to explain the Mormon faith. Feel free to feature any of these videos on your blog, or just share them with non-member friends. We’re hoping these videos will be missionary tools to help members share their beliefs. Anyway, sorry to spam your comments section. I couldn’t find any contact information for you on your blog.
